Pot Luck Welcome Lunch
 
Pot Luck Lunch was organized as an ice-breaking event for new students. Students enjoyed having lunch together amongst themselves and with their teachers in an informal setting. They had a lot of fun and got to know each other better.

Terry Fox Fund Raising
 
Students of Xyna International organized a Bake Sale Event to spread awareness about Cancer in their community. They raised nearly $200 and the collected money was donated to Terry Fox Foundation.

Field Visit to Ontario University Fair
 
Students of Xyna visited Ontario Universities Fair, held in Toronto.
During the visit, they were able to meet professors, students and senior administrators from various universities. The trip provided immense benefits to our high school students as they had an opportunity to ask questions directly from the university representatives. They also attended scheduled information sessions about Ontario universities.

Talk by King’s University College Representative
 
Students of Xyna International got a chance to meet face to face, a representative from King’s University College. Students had one on one interaction with the representative and got to know more about the programs offered at the King’s.

YSAP Workshop for Teachers
 
Teachers of Xyna attended a workshop conducted by Terisa Bernard from Youth Substance Abuse Program. She talked about physical, psychological and scientific reasoning that motivates a user to use drugs. She also laid emphasis on understanding addiction with a special focus on its prevention, treatment and recovery.

Talk by Ryerson University Representative
 
Students of Xyna International interacted with a representative from Ryerson University. It was a perfect opportunity for the students to get a better insight to the university and its programs. This helped the students to find their ideal graduate program.

Cultural Day
 
Celebrating different cultures helps students recognize the beauty of diversity. It also fosters the emotion that we are all different but we learn and grow together. So, to promote the feeling of inclusion for all, Xyna celebrated Cultural Day, when students and teachers came to school dressed up in their cultural outfits.

Pumpkin Painting Contest
 
We all know pumpkin is associated with fall. There is no denying that once autumn rolls in, the pumpkin reigns supreme. It’s the season when grocery stores stock their shelves with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Xyna International organized a Pumpkin Painting Contest. The students unleashed their creative streak and created their own pumpkin masterpieces. It was an amazing display of colour and patterns on pumpkins.

Halloween Dress Competition
 
Halloween is the most anticipated celebrations of the fall season for the young and young at heart--- and it was no different at Xyna. Everybody came dressed up in their spookiest best and participated in the Halloween Dress Competition. The best costume was adjudged by the teachers and the winners were awarded.

STEM Club Project Display
 
To engage students in learning experiences that enable them to use their creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking and logical reasoning, STEM club was initiated in school. Students displayed their first project on this day and their efforts were appreciated and acknowledged. Deserving students were presented with certificates.

Talk by Representative from Huron Western
 
A representative from Huron Western University College visited Xyna International and gave a presentation. The students benefited from the event and the representative had one on one conference with the attendees to answer their queries and questions.

Students of Xyna International got a chance to meet face to face, a representative from the University of Guelph. Students had one on one interaction with the representative and got to know more about the programs offered at the University.

The Royal Canadian Legion’s Annual Poster and Literary Contest
 
Remembrance Day is a yearly memorial day that is observed in Canada, to remember those who died in military service, and honour those who served in wartime. It is observed across Canada each year on 11 November.
We are proud that this year Xyna International students participated in the Youth creative contests through The Royal Canadian Legion's longstanding Annual Poster and Literary Contests to honour Canada’s Veterans.

A Trip to the Ontario Science Centre
 
To create engaging and thought-provoking connect with Science, students of Xyna visited the Ontario Science Centre. It was a fascinating trip for students when they explored Science and Technology.

Debate Competition
 
Debate skills are transformational experiences for students. In a debate program, students engage voluntarily in a social activity that reaps significant intellectual benefits and rewards academic skills: quick thinking, sound argument, and confident speaking. Xyna International organized a debate where students participated enthusiastically and displayed great oratorical skills. Winners were presented with certificates and gift cards.

Food Drive
 
A school food drive is a good way to introduce the idea of community service to students. In order to deepen the lesson, a food drive was organized at Xyna International and the collected food items were donated to a food bank, Knights Table.

Restaurant Project
 
As a part of their course project, students created a “Restaurant for a Day”. It was an awareness campaign centred on nutrition and making healthy food choices. Students planned and designed a special menu card and set up a table for guests as per restaurant style.

Spirit Week Celebrations
 
The festive spirit was witnessed amongst the staff and students during the Spirit Week Celebrations. The faculty and students of Xyna got together and chose a different theme for each day of the week. The days celebrated were Pajama Day, Twin Day, Ugly Sweater Day and Christmas Hat Day followed by Christmas Party on Dec 21. It was a great fun-filled week.

Talk on Personal Safety and Fraud Prevention by Peel Police
 
Every year there are more than a thousand frauds and scams in the Peel Region making them a key concern for police. To help our school students and staff stay informed so they can be proactive in preventing this type of activity, an educational seminar on fraud prevention was held at Xyna.

Club Activity Projects Display and Competition
 
To mark 100 years of World War I and connect students to past, students created World War I project along with a poster as a part of their Term 2 Club Activity. In a group of three, they researched the topic, “Life in the Trenches” and created their project.

Talk on Drug Education by Peel Regional Police
 
Illegal drug use can have major negative effects. This is not only on the user but their family, friends and community. Drug education is important for children, teenagers and adults. This is why Xyna organized a talk by the Peel Regional Police to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
