Fundraising for Terry Fox Foundation
 
Students of Xyna International organised a Fundraising Campaign to spread awareness of Cancer in their community. They raised more than $400 and proceeds was donated to Terry Fox Foundation.

Visit to OUF
 
Xyna International High School organized an educational trip for high school students to Ontario Universities Fair in Toronto. The trip provided immense benefits to our high school students as they had an opportunity to meet all 21 Universities together in one place. During the visit students visited Ontario university exhibits and asked questions directly to representatives. They got a chance to meet professors, students and senior administrators from Ontario’s 21 Universities. They also attended scheduled information sessions about Ontario universities.

City of Brampton, Cultural Day
 
Cultural Days Brampton is a celebration that unites people and instills civic pride and is celebrated during the last weekend of September each year. Students of Xyna International High School presented a drama at Loafer’s Lake Library as an initiative to spread awareness towards homeless people. The presentation struck a chord with the audience and received a lot of appreciation.

Cultural Day Celebrations
 
Cultural celebrations foster respect and open mindedness for other cultures. Taking this thought forward Xyna celebrated Cultural Day wherein teachers and students alike showcased their cultural attires. Diversity is something to be celebrated and that’s what we believe at Xyna and inculcate in our students.

Diwali Celebrations
 
Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm at Xyna. Teachers and students both came in their ethnic wear to keep up the spirit of Diwali. The school was decorated with diyas and lights to mark the occasion. Sweets and other delicacies were shared and savoured by one and all.

Nature Canvas Drawing Competition
 
Xyna International High School organised a field trip and a Nature Canvas Drawing Contest for high school students on Oct 20, 2017 at Gage Park in Brampton to celebrate Fall Season. Students thoroughly enjoyed this outdoor activity. The winner Maanvi Mallik was presented with a certificate and a medal.

Halloween Dress Competition
 
Halloween is a day to mark that night of the year when spirits and dead can cross over into the world of living. Xyna International High School organised a Halloween Dress Competition when students and teachers came dressed up and walked the ramp as demons, fairies, witches and angels. Jibraan Vakil and Ravnoor Sareen were declared as the best dressed up students and were awarded with a certificate and a memento. The school premises too was decorated as per the Halloween theme. It was a fun day for all.

Animated Video Competition
 
In order to create awareness about cyber bullying and its intervention strategies, Xyna International High School organised an Animated Video Competition. The theme chosen was - “What If Everyone Did Something”.....to stop cyber bullying. Each student presented a video of one minute duration. The winners were Neil Bhatia and Ankit Bhardwaj. Both were presented with a medal and a certificate.

Session On Ryerson University
 
Xyna International organised a conference with a representative from Ryerson University. It was a well-attended event wherein Stephanie Sim from Ryerson University talked about all the programs available and their scope.

Session on University of Ontario Institute of Technology
 
Shantel Mangroo from UOIT visited Xyna International and gave a presentation. The students benefited from the event and the representative had one on one conference with the attendees to answer their queries and questions.

Session on Kings College
 
Students of Xyna International got a chance to meet face to face, Craig Minielly, a representative from Kings College. Students had one on one interaction with the representative and got to know more about the programs offered at the King’s.

Session on University of Guelph
 
Students of Xyna International interacted with Jessie Kennedy, the official representative from University of Guelph. It was a perfect opportunity for the students to get a better insight to the university and its programs. This helped the students to find their ideal graduate program.

Visit to Royal Ontario Museum
 
With the objective of nurturing discovery and inspiring wonder in its students Xyna International organised a visit to Royal Ontario Museum. It is Canada’s largest museum of world cultures and natural history. It was a fun as well as an educating and engaging trip for students.

Healthy Relationship Session by York University
 
Anna, Claire and Nasrudin second year nursing students from York University visited Xyna International and gave an interactive presentation on maintaining healthy relationships. The purview of the discussion covered topics like defining healthy relationships, peer pressure, communication in relationships and putting an end to abuse. All in all it was an informative session for the students.

Holiday Food Drive
 
Food Drives, big or small, are a great way to get involved in your community and lend a helping hand to your local bank. Xyna International is committed to responding to the needs of the community. Holiday Food Drive was organised at the school during which students and teachers donated canned food items. The collected food was donated to Knights Table.

Debate Competition
 
Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students creative room to express what they feel. Two teams of four students each participated in a debate competition organized at Xyna International on the topic, “Economic Prosperity is more important than Environmental Protection.” All the participants exhibited great oratorical skills. Highlight of the debate was the rebuttal round. Ankit Bhardwaj, Jibraan Vakil, Farjana Ilma and Mushfique Fatmi were the students from the winning team and were presented with certificates.

Spirit Week Celebrations
 
Celebrating Christmas Spirit Week is a great way to bring in the season with cheer. The faculty and students of Xyna got together and chose a different theme for each day of the week. The days celebrated were Pajama Day, Twin Day, Ugly Sweater Day and Christmas Hat Day followed by Christmas Party on Dec 22.

Talk about Fire/Life Safety by City of Brampton Public Services
 
The main aim of the talk was to instil the feeling that fire safety is important for all of us. The talk was conducted by Fire/Life safety officer from City of Brampton Public Services to create awareness about potential hazards in our homes. The representative outlined the steps that we can take to best ensure that we are prepared for any emergency event.

Talk on Brampton Transit
 
An informative session on Brampton transit where in the representative talked about service alerts and updates, fares quick links, flash screens, link to multilingual information and much more. The students were provided with information on how to use Brampton Transit and its apps for their commute.

The talk was conducted by a detective Mr. Feras Ismail from Diversity Relations Bureau, City of Brampton.The main objective was to foster an environment of respect, open communication and empowerment.
